Mugga Lane Solar Park opens in Official Ceremony

2 March 2017 - Maoneng

AUSTRALIAN CAPITAL TERRITORY – Nearly one year after construction for the Mugga Lane Solar Park began, Maoneng Group – the developer and long term investor of Mugga Lane Solar Park – hosted the official opening ceremony for the park today. Along with multiple dignitaries, including the Hon. Shane Rattenbury, Minister for the Environment of the Australian Capital Territory, officials launched the 13MW AC Solar Power Station, which is supported by the ACT Government FIT.

Mugga Lane Solar Park is estimated to produce 24,500MWh of clean energy in the first year. This solar park will be contributing an abatement of 23,000 tonnes of CO2 annually, equivalent of taking 4600 cars of the road each year for the next 30 years. “The development and transition into a renewable energy world will be challenging, but it is precisely why we have been here for the last few years, and will be here for many more years to come,” said Maoneng Group Vice President Qiao Han.

In addition to the Mugga Lane Solar Park, Maoneng Group is also working on a new solar farm in Australia, the Sunraysia Solar Farm, later this year. “The Sunraysia Solar Farm is one of the many mega projects our company will be delivering over the next few years in Australia,” confirmed Maoneng Group Executive Chairman Morris Zhou. “We anticipate commencement of construction in Q4 2017. No one can whistle a symphony, it takes a whole orchestra to play it. We look forward to working closely with our industry partners like we have for Mugga Lane Solar Park.”
